Bumpy ride

Question : I BOUGHT a Toyota Avanza for practical reason but found the ride to be quite bumpy.

Are there any remedies or conversion to the suspension to improve the ride?

The original spec tyres are 185/65 R15. These tyres are not common and are difficult to buy.

What sizes are compatible if I were to retain the original rims?

Answer : The Toyota Avanza is a good practical general purpose vehicle and you will notice: that it has a pretty basic suspension in order to keep costs down.

The suspension can be softened by experimenting with the spring leaves and changing the shock absorbers but this work is best left to someone who knows what he is doing because softer suspension usually means more body roll, and anti-roll bars may have to be added to sort that out.

Regarding the tyres, I think the size you have is the best compromise because other sizes would have a larger section and lower profile, which would make your ride even worse!
