'Fatter' size

Question : I wish to change my Nissan Sunny's 13-inch tyres and rims to fatter ones with the same wheelbase size. Is it possible ?

Do I have to change the suspension systems as well or retain the existing ones ?

Is there any necessity to change the brakes as well ? Would I get better grip then ?

Answer : I think what you mean is that you want to retain the same overall diameter but with wider section.

You may not need to do anything with your suspension settings or brakes but make sure that you have enough wheel-arch clearance. You may need to do some flaring of the arches and even some knocking of the inside of the arches to get clearance.

Do not go for the easy route by adding spacers to get clearance as that may sometimes put too much offset on the wheels and the car may wander on uneven roads and rainy conditons.
