Kancil vibration

Question : I OWN a 2001 secondhand Kancil 850 (M).

The engine and steering vibrate quite badly early in the morning and also during idling while on free gear.

I have tuned the engine and changed the spark plugs and air filter.

The RPM reading sometimes goes beyond 1,500 before settling down at 1,100rpm.

One mechanic said the vibration is caused by the engine mountings while another said it could be the uneven current of the distributor cables.

Another question is about the power boost gadget K2N Energy Power System.

Did CBT do a test on this gadget and how reliable is it?

Answer : I think there is an air leak causing the idle mixture to be sometimes rich and sometimes lean, resulting in the erratic idling.

Check the vacuum hoses connected to the intake manifold if there are any cracks or looseness and replace any that are suspicious.

Regarding the power boost gadget, I am not an advocate of add-on power enhancing gadgets and I believe that any performance increase can only come about either with turbo or supercharging and actual engine modifications.
