Cheap fix

Question : EACH time the demister is in use on my Mercedes Benz S280, there is a "stripe" of mist on my rear window because of a break in one of the heating element wires. A new screen for my car costs more than RM2000 and I was wondering if there was a cheaper solution.

Answer : THERE is certainly a cheaper solution to your problem and it comes in the form of a silver-loaded conductive paint sold by most electronic component suppliers.

In fact, this type of paint is used to repair broken tracks on PCBs (printed circuit boards) and can also be used in a similar fashion for your rear demister.

Mask the area off and apply enough paint to bridge the break and the demister can then be used again once the paint has dried.
