THE Chevrolet Cruze is an important
car to General Motors.
This is one of GM's bread and butter cars, and judging from its looks, we
have no doubt that it can do well here.
Officially unveiled at the Paris Motor
Show last year, the Cruze sports modern
lines and a swanky interior.
It has already been launched in Korea
as the new Lacetti (the previous Lacetti
is known as the Optra here) and if the
reports are right, Malaysians will finally
get a worthy replacement of the Optra
The Cruze has an interior which looks like it is taken straight out from
a concept car. Size wise, this car is bigger than
the current Optra Magnum but shall not
barge into the Accord/Camry territory.
European spec will see a new 1.4-litre
four-cylinder turbocharged engine under
the hood, good for 140hp and an equally
impressive fuel economy.
The Korean version is reported to be
powered by a normal 1.6-litre engine
that provides a more decent 114hp with
a 5-speed manual or a new 6-speed auto
