Alfa Romeo Spider
The Alfa Spider offers an extreme level of sportiness based on absolute
traction control. But that’s not all. Anyone at the wheel of an Alfa Spider is
driving a dream, and wants to be sure of dominating the road and cleaving the
wind. The 3.2 JTS V6 version mounts the Q4 permanent four-wheel drive system,
a highly-advanced type of transmission that ensures an extraordinary level of
dynamic behaviour, an important element for dominating the engine’s 260
horsepower.
The heart of the system is the Twindiff mechanical central differential
(an evolution of the Torsen C) that distributes engine torque between the
front and rear wheels according to the grip conditions. In normal driving
conditions the Q4 system favours the rear wheels (57 % of torque), a solution
created by the Alfa Romeo engineers to enhance driving pleasure.
