Air-cond leakage

Question : We have a Proton Saga and Waja.

Both vehicles seem to have water dripping from the air conditioner.

I sent the vehicles for a check but the mechanic says there is nothing wrong.

Answer : There are a couple of reasons why water leaks from the air-cond system.

1. The drain hoses in the evaporator are not doing their job or are blocked.

2. The water condensation is not flowing to the drain hoses and is overflowing.

3. The temperature setting of the thermostat is too cold, resulting in condensation on the outside of the evaporator and ducting, leading to water dripping into the passenger compartment.
